Fest Int’l pegs Gulotta-Haggart as development director

She’s a hyphenated American. Bobby Jindal doesn’t approve.

Festival International de Louisiane is looking after its bottom line, announcing the hire this week of Candace Gulotta-Haggart as development director.

More than 20 percent of Festival’s funding comes through sponsorships, and it will be Gulotta-Haggart’s job to bring them in by coordinating fundraising events, managing the nonprofit’s donor programs (Amis du Festival and Rain Angels) and of course securing new sponsorships. She comes to Downtown Lafayette’s premier event from New Cardiovascular Horizons Foundation where she held a similar title.

A native of Plaquemine near Baton Rouge, Gulotta-Haggart graduated in mass communications from LSU. She also serves on the board of the Acadiana Symphony Women’s League and Generation ASO and lives in Lafayette with her husband and daughter.

“I am thrilled and honored to be joining such a prestigious organization,” Gulotta-Haggart says in a release announcing her hire. “Lafayette is such a vibrant and creative community and I look forward to working with the Festival International team to continue the great work and wonderful traditions Festival has created over the past 30 years.”
