AUG 11 Saturday Down South issues its annual rankings of SEC football stadiums here, and once again LSU tops the list. There's nothing like Tiger Stadium in the fall, they say, and that's certainly true.

ANOTHER PIECE FROM ROSE ON NOLA
AUG 11 As we reach critical mass with the 10th Anniversary stories, it's important, isn't it, that we ensure that true NOLA voices stand out from the chorus? Chris Rose is certainly a NOLA voice, one particularly relevant in any discussion of Katrina. Here's another post from him, an open letter to the world from the city, 10 years later.

HEY, VITTER, CONCENTRATE ON THIS
AUG 11 Bobby Jindal's taking a crew of state police security with him on all his campaign jaunts and you're paying for it. The Advocate, in this editorial, says that's bad. (No kidding.) The guy who wants to take Jindal's place, David Vitter, criticized the security detail on Jindal's kids, TO THE DISPLEASURE OF THE FIRST LADY. If, as opponents claim, that research was never done, it will be difficult to produce it, now, won't it?

AUG 11 MSNBC has done a fascinating series on the geography of poverty, and here's the entry about Louisiana's cancer alley. It's not pretty, but it's worth reading.

AGAIN: HISTORY MAKES IT HARD TO TELL
AUG 11 This post on The Hill's campaign blog says that Bobby Jindal's new campaign strategy is to mention Donald Trump randomly, hoping that the media will cover him as a result. Is it satire? Is it real? Who knows? Bobby has shown a willingness to say anything if he thinks it will advance his campaign - so why would this be too far?
Tuesday's Blogs from the Bog!
Tiger Stadium wins another ranking contest, because there's nothing like a Saturday night in Death Valley! Also today, Rose has another essay on NOLA and nobody's happy with Bobby's security bills.
