Blayze & Saddles with Rocky & The Grasshoppers take the stage in Parc Sans Souci on October 2nd. There will be a little bit for everyone when these Country, Honky Tonk and Swamp Pop bands collide on one stage to create an unforgettable night. In an extra special twist, DTA! and the Downtown Restaurant and Bar Association are teaming up to offer theme nights at DTA! and in Downtown bars and restaurants after DTA! so come dressed in your most honky-tonk western wear.

“THE PRESIDENT’S OWN” UNITED STATES MARINE BAND

Doors: 7:30 p.m.

As part of its 2015 national concert tour, “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band will perform at 7:30pm, Friday, October 2 at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette. The concert is free and open to the public.

Michael Juan Nunez is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter from South Louisiana whose music taps into the heart of American southern culture. Josh Garrett has been entertaining audiences all over the country for the last five years with his own style of Louisiana Blues. Together they take the backdoor stage at the Blue Moon Saloon.

Jefferson Street Pub

Doors: 9 p.m.

The Jefferson Street Pub, located in Downotwn Lafaytte at 500 Jefferson Street in conjunction with Crescent Crown Distributing and BandSwap will be hosting Samuel Adams National Stein Hoisting Competition in honor of Oktoberfest. Male and female competitors will raise a beer stein or large mug even with their shoulders holding the position as long as they can without spilling the beer or lowering the glass. The first place winner will receive a $50 Jefferson Street Pub gift card and the second place winner will receive a $25 Jefferson Street Pub gift card. BandSwap’s Denver, Colorado based Red Fox Run will provide the live music before the competition as well as after. You must be 18 to enter and 21 to drink with valid drivers license. Cover for the competition and live music is $5 at the door. Registration for the Stein Competiton starts at 9:30 p.m. The Jefferson Street Pub will be serving 35 beers on tap as well as their full menu until 11 p.m.
