UL presents bilingual play 'Art'

The UL Lafayette Performing Arts Department presents Yasmina Reza’s bilingual comedy “Art,” in both French and English.

When Serge buys an outrageously expensive painting, it could spark the downfall of his life-long friendships with Yvonne and Marci. His new prize possession consists entirely of white lines painted on a gigantic white canvas and everyone has an opinion. What is art? Who gets to decide? Does it define us or do we define it? Tempers run high in this hilarious and thoughtful comedy by acclaimed playwright Yasmina Reza.

'Art' is presented for three weeks, in both English and French, by the UL Lafayette School of Music and Performing Arts and sponsored by the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum.

Performances for “Art” will take place in the A. Hays Town Building, located at 710 E. St. Mary Blvd., on the UL Campus. General admission is $10 with UL Lafayette faculty, staff and students getting in for free with valid ID. Hilliard Art Museum members will also get in for free.
