This Saturday, the McComb-Veazey Neighborhood Coterie presents the 12th & Surrey Live Better Block Party, which is a family-friendly, community event featuring local businesses and artists.
The McComb-Veazey Neighborhood won a Creativity Everywhere Collaborative Grant for the opportunity to have Better Block Party in their neighborhood and to paint a Local Legends mural. The mural will honor several local community leaders who have worked throughout their lifetime to improve education and civil rights for the community.
The McComb-Veazey Neighborhood Coterie and its sponsors will host vendor booths, live music, games and activities for all. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The 12th & Surrey Live Better Block Party will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the intersection of 12th and Surrey Streets in Lafayette. Admission is free and this event is open to the public. For more information, visit Facebook.com/McCombVeazeyNeighborhoodCoterie.
