Global Data Systems opens new international headquarters

Global Data Systems celebrated the grand opening of its new international headquarters in Lafayette with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

Local telecommunications firm Global Data Systems Inc. has opened its new international headquarters at 310 Laser Lane in Lafayette.

After 28 years in business, GDS (No. 37 on ABiz's list of the Top 50 Private Companies in the region) also has office locations in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lockport and Houston. The new corporate headquarters located in the LEDA's Northpark Technology Center is home to the state’s only Gen 2 modular data center and commercial satellite teleport with a redundant CLEC telecommunications infrastructure.

“This expansion truly is a team effort. Twenty-eight years of building relationships and friendships has led to today,” said Chuck Vincent, GDS chairman and CEO in a prepared release. “We felt strongly that LEDA Northpark was where this facility needed to be located to best serve our clients. The GDS team and I are very appreciative of the support we’ve received from LEDA, LUS and all of our vendors and partners who helped make this facility a reality.”
