Party Girl: Playing Politics

Party Girl hits the election scene

Oct. 24 was a different kind of party. From the Republicans to the Dems, sheriff to city council, Lafayette was filled with celebrations citywide as election results rolled in. There were some surprises from the city’s top spot — state Rep. Joel Robideaux is headed for the city-parish president’s office — and runoffs galore, namely the ever-heated showdown between Chad Leger and Mark Garber for sheriff. The Party Girl Posse has no affiliation with a political party. We are devoted, only, to parties. Add some style and a hefty dose of fun and you have our vote. Stylish candidate Liz Webb Hebert was elated when we caught up with her at Another Broken Egg. She took the lead in what will now be a runoff with Gerald Judice. Over at River Oaks, the Garber base had a shindig while Leger partied with his supporters at Don’s Specialty Meats in Scott. Robideaux’s crew enjoyed music with a private affair at Warehouse 535 Downtown, and the folks for Jean Paul Coussan enjoyed a quaint gathering of family at his Lafayette home.
