Innovators of the Year Unveiled

INNOV8 Acadiana has announced its Innovators of the Year for 2015:

Cover Six, a lock down training facility located in Church Point that serves clients from law enforcement, hospitals and private business from across the U.S.

Bayou Teche Brewing Company, a St. Martin Parish enterprise that crafts a variety of beers to complement Cajun and Creole cuisine and lifestyles

Louisiana Bait Products, located in Vermilion Parish to serve a growing national market for bait fish (14 million units in 2014)

NuNu Arts & Culture Collective, an incubator, event center and tourist destination located in Arnaudville

The Innovation Awards will be presented during the ABiz Entrepreneur of the Year Symposium Thursday, Nov. 12, at The Cajundome Convention Center at noon.

Innovation award winners will be featured in a panel discussion during the INNOV8 Acadiana Technology and Entrepreneurial Summit on Saturday, Nov. 14, at LITE. The full two-day summit schedule is available at innov8acadiana.org and includes a technology job fair, an eight-state pitch challenge (produced in cooperation with the Delta Regional Authority), the re-launch of the Cajun Code Fest, a Saturday series of seminars with notable guest speakers and more.

Events will take place at LITE and The Picard Center. The fee for registration begins at $20.

INNOV8 after hours heads Downtown both nights, where four members of the Downtown Lafayette Restaurant and Bar Association will participate in INNOV8 the Plate, including culinary creations by Jefferson Street Pub, Pamplona, Tsunami and Legends Annex, which will offer a custom-crafted INNOV8 cocktail.
