Lourdes Foundation's fourth annual Soiree, Lafayette General Health System's annual gala, ABiz’s Entrée to Business Breakfast, Global Data Systems' new international headquarters

Lourdes Foundation held its fourth annual Soiree in the meditation gardens at Our Lady of Lourdes in late October. More than 400 guests attended the event for an evening of skyhigh delights and flight of fancy for a good cause. Patrons made direct donations to Lourdes Foundation outreach ministries like St. Bernadette Clinic and Northside High Health Center or purchased chances to win a surprise weekend fly-away trip leaving the very next day. Tracey and Tory Gunderson were the big winners of the secret trip for four to Andell Inn on Kiawah Island, S.C.

In his informative presentation Oct. 15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, economist Loren Scott gave his predictions for how the state and local economies will perform over the next two years. Scott told the audience at ABiz’s annual Entrée to Business Breakfast that a barrel of oil will likely average about $55 in 2016 and $60 in 2017, at times hitting potential lows of $30 and highs of $90 — though he stressed the extreme difficulty in accurately assessing what the future holds for this now-highly volatile commodity. The event is presented by IberiaBank and Dwight Andrus Insurance; additional sponsors include Cox Business, One Acadiana, Cane River Pecan Company, Andrus Boudreaux Complete Title and Vidox Motion Imagery.
