Petersen endorses Lewis in CPC-3 runoff

John Petersen, the fourth-place finisher in the Oct. 24 election for the City-Parish Council District 3 seat, has endorsed Pat Lewis in the runoff with two-term incumbent Brandon Shelvin. Petersen’s endorsement of Lewis comes closely on the heels of Ursula Anderson’s endorsement of Lewis; Anderson came in third on Oct. 24.

“I was born and raised in Lafayette and I love calling this community my home,” Petersen says in a release announcing the endorsement. “I am honored to endorse Patrick “Pat” Lewis as our next councilman for District 3, and I am encouraging all of my supporters to join me in supporting Mr. Lewis on November 21st.”

Petersen, a Lafayette native, UL graduate and co-owner of Swamp Pop Soda, has recently joined Lewis in canvassing neighborhoods in the north Lafayette district.

“An overwhelming majority of District 3 residents voted for a change on October 24th,” Petersen adds. “We need a representative with integrity, who listens carefully and serves diligently, and I’m confident Pat Lewis has the ability to move our district in the right direction.”

The runoff election is Nov. 21.
