Southern Screen Film Festival returns this weekend

The Southern Screen Film Festival returns this weekend for four days of film screenings, panels, red carpet events, parties and workshops beginning Thursday, Nov. 19.

The Southern Screen Film Festival returns this weekend for four days of film screenings, panels, red carpet events, parties and workshops in an effort to move beyond the traditional film festival and work to open up the community to the widespread possibilities of storytelling. The festival offers a hands-on experience, where the creativity in filmmaking mixes with a landscape of the local Louisiana culture to inspire and ignite the local community and visiting filmmakers.

Festival Passes can be pre-ordered online or purchased at any Southern Screen event. The Festival Pass allows the wearer access to every red carpet, viewing at every screening, learning at every workshop and socializing at every party throughout the Festival. This pass is ideal and cost effective for anyone who wants to attend multiple events throughout the weekend. For ticket information visit SouthernScreen.org/Attend.

And new this year is the option to upgrade a Festival Pass with a Booze Bracelet, which can only be purchased with a pass. The Booze Bracelet allows its wearer to get Parish Brewery Canebrake and Titos Vodka throughout the festival.

Students can also go to all daytime screenings, panels and workshops completely free with a valid Student ID. Students should pre-register online and a bracelet can be picked up at Will Call at any Southern Screen event.
