Plano-based company, which now has 100 stores, opening near Academy.

Home décor superstore At Home is expanding to Lafayette with a location on Ambassador Caffery Parkway next to Academy.

According to Lafayette Consolidated Government permitting records, the store will be 108,000 square feet.

A spokeswoman for the chain, which was founded in Garden Ridge, Texas, in 1979, and is now headquartered in Plano, could not be immediately reached for comment on when the store plans to open.

At Home was founded as Garden Ridge Pottery. The chain was later renamed to simply Garden Ridge and grew to 65 stores in 21 states until the company embarked on a brand transformation to At Home last year.

In late October the company expanded to Wisconsin, opening what would be its 100th store in the city of Wauwatosa.
