J Burton live at the Warehouse

The Rhum Room at Warehouse 535 and Norwood Recording Co. announce the latest Artist of the Month, J Burton, performing every Wednesday night in February.

After a three year stint in Athens, Ga., J Burton moved back to Lafayette in 2004 and started a the folk band called Dire Wood. The band grew into to a five piece fully electrified rock mainstay and their 2008 release “The Escape” charted on college radio stations across the US. Then in 2009, inspired by the quirky rock of Brian Eno, J Burton started the bombastic indie-pop group FIGHTs, whose 2013 release “Music For Villains” reached #1 in several markets upon it's release.

For his February residency at the Rhum Room, J Burton will showcase his latest work as a solo songwriter on Wednesday, Feb 3. Then on Wednesday, Feb. 10, Dire Wood re-unites for a special one-night performance. And on Wednesday, Feb. 17, the latest incarnation in the FIGHTs dynasty, GoGo Noir, makes its debut. And finally, J Burton will hold a special solo performance with special guest Dustan Louque on Wednesday, Feb 24.
