The BeauSoleil Louisiana Solar Home team unveils its design for a self-sufficient and affordable solar home on Saturday, May 17.
UL Lafayette's School of Architecture and Design is one of only 20 international teams selected to participate in the Solar Decathlon competition to be held in Washington D.C. in 2009. The competition seeks out the best design by university students for a solar-powered and energy efficient home.
Join the BeauSoleil team on Saturday at UL's Fletcher Hall from 7-9 p.m., with food, drink and music from the Lost Bayou Ramblers. Tickets are available at the door for $15 each and $5 for students. Students can donate old cell phones and empty ink cartridges for recycling in lieu of paid admission. Funds raised will help the team with its design and research.
