Logan and Matt are high school sweethearts from St. Thomas More. On a typical Friday night, Matt asked Logan if she wanted to go to their favorite coffee shop, Jammin’ Java. When they pulled up, the shop was lit only by candlelight and Matt got down on one knee to ask Logan to marry him.

The couple decided on a simple, yet elegant wedding with 140 guests at St. Anne in Youngsville, followed by a reception at The Victorian in Broussard. The church didn’t need much more than a few pew markers and an alter arrangement, while the reception was decorated with planted succulents in tiny containers wrapped with
metal ribbon, lanterns lit with candles and natural blocks of wood.

The bride wore a high-necked lace gown by Justin Alexander from Sposa Bella Bridal Store. The groom was outfitted in a traditional black tux by Vera Wang. Groomsmen wore gray traditional Vera Wang tuxes from Men’s Warehouse, and bridesmaids chose gray convertible dresses in their own styles.

Logan remembers her dad telling her as he walked her down the aisle and all the guests turned to look, “You command a lot of attention.”

A handpicked playlist carried out by DJ Todd Buteaux with Gumbo Entertainment made for a memorable reception, as did a four-tiered buttercream wedding cake and petit fours from Sweet Southern Ladies. A Piece of Cake crafted the chocolate-on-chocolate groom’s cake — three engineering books stacked on top of each other topped with an Xbox One controller.

“It was great to see all of our family and friends in one place,” says Logan. After the reception, the party continued at Young’s Sports Bar across the street.

The newlyweds honeymooned in La Jolla, Calif., before settling down in Metairie.
