We’ve been posting vintage video from Festival International over the past three decades. This latest and final video, compiled by UL art student Leah Boudreaux, is far and away the best.
“When I was approaching the video, I had a ton of footage to comb through,” she tells The IND. “I noticed multiple common threads throughout all of the performances, so I decided to place things into categories: dancers, drummers, ‘bonjours’ and ‘mercis.’ This way, we could see and experience all of the similarities between the acts despite their geographical spread. No matter the year or country of origin, these were what linked them all.”
Boudreaux poured hours into the effort, combing through reams of archival footage compiled by AOC. The result is awesome.
