The Burundi Drummers are comprised of refugees who fled the country of Burundi following the interethnic war between Hutus and Tutsis in 1993. The group is made up of men and women of the three ethnic groups that compose the Burundi community: Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa. Burundi drums sound like rolling thunderclaps. It is said that you don’t listen to them with your ears; you listen with your heart.
