The Southern Screen Film Festival has announced its 2016 dates, which will be held Thursday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 13.

Film submissions from Southern filmmakers are still being accepted and include narrative features, documentaries, short films, animations, student films and music videos. Interested filmmakers should visit SouthernScreen.org/Submit to fill out a submission form and submit their film. Students can submit for free. The deadline for film submissions is Monday, Aug. 1.

Every November in Lafayette, the Southern Screen Film Festival presents four days of film screenings, panels, red carpet events, parties, and workshops for every unique individual to enjoy. Southern Screen moves beyond traditional film festivals, and works to expose the community to the widespread possibilities of storytelling.

The festival offers a hands-on experience, where the creativity in filmmaking mixes with a landscape of the local Louisiana culture to inspire and ignite the local community and visiting filmmakers.
