Ice Cream Freeze Off looking for volunteers

by Mary Tutwiler

Fear of brain freeze. That’s the only excuse I can think of why the Children’s Museum of Acadiana isn’t overrun with volunteers for this weekend’s Ice Cream Freeze Off fund raiser. The third annual showdown on who makes the best homemade ice cream is coming up on Saturday, June 7, and the museum is still looking for a dozen good men and women, preferably with a sweet tooth, to help out with the event.

There are booths to be manned, faces to be painted, and of course cones to be scooped. Shifts are only two hours, from 2 to 4 p.m. or from 4 to 6 p.m. Perks include chocolate crunch, blackberry, rum raisin, strawberry, peppermint, mocha fudge, peaches and cream, peanut butter pie, green tea, white chocolate and macadamia nut...

To lend a hand, call Deborah Norsworthy at 232-8500.
