Lafayette’s longest-running free, weekly concert series, Downtown Alive! is back this Fall starting Sept. 16 with Feufollet taking the Parc Sans Souci stage.
This season, DTA! is once again partnering with the Bayou Round-up on Oct. 7 to line the streets of Downtown Lafayette with hundreds of classic cars. The night will feature a first-time ever stop in Lafayette from L.A.'s iconic roots-rock band The Blasters, as well as Downtown's own CC Adcock + The Lafayette Marquis. They will also bring the Ragin’ Cajun spirit Downtown with the Yell Like Hell Friday Night Homecoming Pep Rally on Nov. 4 with Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band.
The season also includes heavy-hitters including Wayne Toups and Cowboy Mouth rocking out on the Parc International stage and a few new names to the DTA! lineup like Terry & the Zydeco Bad Boys and Cedryl Ballou & the Zydeco Trendsetters.
The season closes out on Thanksgiving Eve with a holiday celebration and the lighting of the official city ChristmasTree by Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, Carols and Cajun tunes by the Pine Leaf Boys and a Toys for Tots Toy Drive.
“We are ready for the sun to shine and to see the shining faces of Acadiana coming out every Friday this fall for DTA!,” says Kate Durio, director of Marketing and Events with Downtown Lafayette in a release announcing the schedule.
DTA! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions followed by musical performances from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Help DTA! pay the band and keep admission free by purchasing drinks and food at DTA! Outside drinks, pets and smoking are not allowed at DTA!
