Horse Farm = flood aid Saturday

The weekly Saturday-morning farmer’s market at Moncus Park at the Horse Farm is doubling as a donation drive for flood victims tomorrow. The Lafayette Farmer’s and Artisans Market will serve as an official United Way “Flood the Love” drop-off site from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Market patrons are encouraged to drop off the following needed products: 5-gallon bucket with resealable lid, mops, liquid laundry detergent, all purpose household cleaner, insect repellent spray, scrub brushes, cleaning wipes, sponges, scouring pads, heavy-duty trash bags, work gloves, shampoo, toilet paper, deodorant, non-perishable food items, bottled water.

The market will not be accepting clothing.

More than 50 vendors typically set up shop for the weekly event, offering fresh produce, hand-crafted works of art and locally prepared foods. A Cajun jam session livens the event.
