The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened a disaster recovery center in Lafayette.

FEMA says in a news release that the center, which opened Sunday, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, until further notice.

Flood survivors will receive assistance and information about FEMA programs they may be eligible for, including individual assistance, transitional shelter assistance, rental assistance and low-interest loans.

Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux says all those affected by the flood should register with FEMA, even those with flood insurance.

The Louisiana Department of Health will administer free tetanus shots to flood victims Monday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the center, which is located at 301 West University Avenue.
