Trick-or-treating made easy at Boo Bayou

Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park invites the public to celebrate Halloween at the village with Boo Bayou, a Fall Carnival for the whole family being held on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Boo Bayou is a great opportunity for those who prefer to trick-or-treat during the day in a secure environment free from traffic and other hazards.

There will be plenty activities for the kids including old-time games, such as pumpkin bowling, fishing for apples, ladder ball and “tin can knock ‘em down.” Visitors can also enjoy a fall picture station, where families, groups of friends and individuals are invited to pose for a photo and memorialize their visit or use for holiday cards.

Other activities include face painting, balloon animals by the Fun Co., entertainment by Mitch the Magician, cupcake decorating and other Halloween-themed snack making, as well as a Cajun Jam in the performance center. Those attending Boo Bayou are welcome to listen and dance to the jam, or participate musically – the jam is open to all musicians, from beginner to professional.

Admission to Boo Bayou is $5 for all ages. For more information on Boo Bayou visit the events calendar at Vermilionville.org or call (337) 233-4077.
