Hail to the Chief

Get your fill of U.S. presidential election history at Edith Garland Dupré Library on the UL Lafayette campus with an eye-popping, vote-inducing exhibit in the grand hallway of memorabilia from the personal collection of Thomas Angers.

If you’re reading this after Nov. 8, America has a president-elect. Whether it’s Gary Johnson or Jill Stein — or by chance one of those other two main candidates — you probably long for a day when American presidential politics was a little more polite. (We swear, millennials, the process used to be way more civil — and shorter!) Get your fill of U.S. presidential election history at Edith Garland Dupré Library on the UL Lafayette campus with an eye-popping, vote-inducing exhibit in the grand hallway of memorabilia from the personal collection of Thomas Angers.

It’s called “Selecting Our President” and it features pins, buttons, T-shirts, ties, badges, tickets and other ephemera going back to the early 20th century.

Although “Selecting Our President” is only on display through mid-November, we’ll have to live with our choice for president for the next four years.
