The Louisiana Oil and Gas Association issued the following update on the health of its longtime president, Don Briggs of Lafayette, according to LaPolitics:

As you will recall, Louisiana Oil and Gas President Don Briggs sustained a serious head injury after slipping in a stairway at a home in North Carolina in October. At that time he was moved to an Asheville, North Carolina medical facility, where his condition started to improve. Since then, he was able to move back to his hometown of Lafayette, where he was treated at a local medical facility.

His improvement continued and he was then transported to the TIRR Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston for further inpatient treatment. We are happy to report that he is now being moved out of that hospital into an inpatient, rehabilitation facility in Houston. According to his physicians, his health is progressing daily and prognosis is good for recovery.

The Briggs family is grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and prayers and continues to appreciate your consideration of their privacy at this time.

Don Briggs' son, Gifford, is serving as acting president until his father is well enough to resume his work.

Godspeed, Don.
