Rankled over rankings

I have been waiting all my life for Louisiana not to rank last in a national ranking, but I never thought that the state would receive its highest national ranking in legislators’ pay.

Louisiana is virtually last in every other national ranking, thanks in part to the lack of wisdom of our Legislature. I seriously do not believe that Louisiana’s last place finish in virtually every area is due to our public servants being underpaid.

Why don’t we adjust the legislators’ pay raises to correspond with Louisiana’s ranking in teen pregnancies, health care benefits, or maybe teachers’ pay?
