Vermilionville welcomes the community at large to come out and get into the holiday spirit with them tomorrow at the annual Old Time Christmas Family Day.

Explore the historic village and folklife park as it is decked out for the holidays with greenery, citrus pomanders, santons, popcorn garlands, a Christmas bonfire and other winter embellishments from the 17 and 1800s.

Bring the children to meet Papa Noël and see his donkey, Gui (French for "Mistletoe"), learn about Native American gift-giving traditions, hear Christmas stories and sing carols, decorate Christmas cookies, make Victorian paper ornaments and more.

Adults can enjoy the Cajun Jam, as well as wintertime craft demonstrations from the Acadian, Creole and Native American cultures such as candle and soap making.

Old Time Christmas Family Day takes place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Vermilionville. For more information, click Vermilionville.org.
