EMERALD CITY Pantone’s color of the year

Pantone’s color of the year

Each year Pantone releases a color of the year that represents a coming onslaught of one hue. Sometimes they nail it. Other years they fall flat. Based on pieces found in stores locally now, 2017’s “Greenery” looks to be on point. And if you think they just pick such colors on a whim, check out this quote from the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute: “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.” We couldn’t have said it better. Here’s to a greener new year.

Two trends in one — off the shoulder and jumpsuit — are a muted green from HerringStone’s Two Sisters’ Boutique.
