Lafayette jewelry manufacturer Stuller Inc. has been named a level one WellSpot by Well-Ahead Louisiana.
The initiative, started by the Louisiana Department of Health, works to recognize places of business and organizations that have implemented voluntary smart changes to make living a healthier life easier for their associates. Stuller last year ranked No. 4 on ABiz’s list of the Top 50 Private Companies in the region with $426 million in 2015 revenues and approximately 1,400 employees.
“Stuller is the first corporate company in Lafayette to receive the level one recognition,” Jennifer East, Stuller’s vice president of human resources, says in announcing the recognition. “For the last four years, we have taken several steps to meet all of the required benchmarks to receive this top recognition. Our associates have really been on board, many of them joining Team Stuller as we participated in various local events in 2016.” Among those events is the Courir du Festival 5k, for which Stuller was a volunteer T-shirt sponsor in 2015. Last year the company sponsored the entire run and this year stepped up in an even bigger way, signing a three-year contract to sponsor it through 2019.
The company also had to meet several other Well-Ahead benchmarks to receive the level one recognition. Those benchmarks include being a tobacco-free campus, having a designated breastfeeding-friendly area, a robust onsite wellness program with monthly newsletters, and healthy vending machine options.
“Improving our well-being here at Stuller is really important to us,” says founder and Chairman Matt Stuller. “We spend a considerable amount of time with one another at work, so we’re in a prime position to motivate and inspire each other to make better choices.”
