C-Span's Campaign 2008 coming to Lafayette on Thursday

The Road to the White House comes through Lafayette this Thursday. C-Span’s signature politics show, currently celebrating its 20th year, is bringing its traveling Campaign 2008 tour bus to town for multiple stops. The bus, which is filled with multi-media exhibits aimed at educating voters for the 2008 presidential election, makes its first stop of the day at the Lafayette Parish Courthouse from 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m. From there it heads to UL Lafayette, where it will be parked in front of UL Lafayette’s Dupre Library on St. Mary Boulevard from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (C-Span’s local stop is in partnership with Cox Communications.)

Prior to the bus being opened to the public at 8 a.m., Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne will be on the bus giving a live interview at 7:30 a.m. for C-Span’s Washington Journal program. Dardenne will be highlighting GeauxVote.com , the state’s voter registration campaign.

Road to the White House airs locally on C-SPAN Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
