On Monday, March 27, Leslie Leonpacher will be showing the Eric Breaux documentary, "The Flying Vet of Lafayette," based on the true-life story of Leonpacher's grandfather, Lippi.

Les Vues is a free film series, held the last Monday of each month in Vermilionville’s Performance Center. On Monday, March 27, Leslie Leonpacher will be showing the Eric Breaux documentary, "The Flying Vet of Lafayette," based on the true-life story of Leonpacher's grandfather, Lippi.

The film is based off of the drawings, photographs, journal entries and film footage Lippi created of his life as the first four year veterinarian in Lafayette. Having immigrated to the U.S. from Germany at the turn of the 20th century, he faced issues during both world wars as he endeared himself in the lifesaving business of caring for large animals that were necessary for farm and ranch life in Louisiana's tropical climate.

The free monthly cultural film series, Les Vues, is held the last Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville Performance Center. The free film series is curated by filmmakers and enthusiasts, mostly from around the state.

The films center around the curator’s interest and can range from features, documentaries, student film, shorts, animation, etc. Following the screenings will be an open discussion between the audience and the curator about the movie and how it applies on a local level.

Admission to the series is free, but a suggested $5 donation will go toward the cost of screening and curating costs.
