by R. Reese Fuller

Tropical Storm Edouard is weakening as it moves inland. In its 10 a.m. advisory, the National Weather Service stated that the center of the storm was about 40 miles west of Port Arthur, Texas and about 45 miles north/northeast of Galveston. The storm continues to move west/northwest at about 15 mph and should track across central Texas as it weakens. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph.

The hurricane watch that was in effect from Intracoastal City to Sargent, Texas is discontinued, as are the tropical storm warnings east of Cameron. However, the warnings are still in effect west of Cameron to San Luis Pass, Texas.
