Rehab Solutions, which has been in business since 2000, has relocated from 3419 NW Evangeline Thruway to 353 Doucet Road, Ste. A-2. The outpatient clinic provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services, specializing in orthopedics, sports injuries, performance training, manual therapy, stroke rehabilitation, osteoarthritis, and joint replacement rehabilitation. The staff includes Scott Frugé and Lisa Guillory, physical therapists; Guy Guidry, an occupational therapist; Mike Landry, a physical therapy assistant; and Christy Boudloche, a speech and language pathologist.

Lafayette General is offering American Heart Association Family & Friends CPR classes, taught by AHA-certified instructors. Classes are Aug. 27, Sept. 30 and Nov. 20, 9-11:30 a.m.; and Oct. 23, 1-3:30 p.m. They will be held at the Grant Molett Medical Arts Center, 443 Heymann Blvd. LGMC is offering basic life support CPR education in an individualized setting (classes will be limited to six students) to its volunteers and the general public. The class is free to hospital volunteers and $10 for the general public to partially cover instructional time and materials. Pre-registration is required by calling 289-8667.

RN Michelle Crain has been appointed chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Our Lady of Lourdes, where she has worked for 18 years. Crain served as interim CNO since December. She is a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the past president of the District IV Louisiana State Nurses Association. She has a bachelor’s in nursing from UL Lafayette and earned a master’s in nursing and completed certification as a family nurse practitioner. Currently, Crain is pursuing her master’s degree in the health care mission program at Aquinas Institute in St. Louis, Mo. Also at Lourdes, Kenneth P. Dupre has been named director of the pastoral care department. Dupre has almost a decade of health care experience ministering as a chaplain and is a member of the Third Order Secular Franciscans. He earned his bachelor’s in sociology in 1980 and in 1987 completed his master’s in theology from the Franciscan University in Ohio. In 2001, he earned a master’s in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Patti Rasberry has joined Cardiovascular Institute of the South as human resources administrator. A native of Houma, Rasberry has more than 20 years of experience in human resources. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Nicholls State University and is certified as a senior professional in human resources from the Human Resource Certification Institute. Prior to joining CIS, Rasberry served as the assistant vice president/human resources director at South Louisiana Bank in Houma.

Lafayette-based Panacea Cream Products has launched a new pain relief product called Osmoflex. The doctor formulated, topical analgesic menthol cream provides fast, temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints. Osmoflex is designed to deliver targeted pain relief associated with arthritis, simple backache, strains, bruises and sprains. The cream is absorbed through the skin at the point of pain. Osmoflex does not require a prescription and complies with FDA guidelines for over-the-counter products.

Miles Perret Cancer Services, a local nonprofit cancer services organization, recently made a special presentation of an original painting commemorating its recently completed Camellia Crossing 5K Run to Park Place Surgical Hospital, the presenting sponsor of the event. Local artist Dana Manly was on hand to make the presentation. The Camellia Crossing 5K Run, part of the Games of Acadiana, was held on May 16 at Town Square in River Ranch with more than 500 runners participating. The painting is based on a photograph of a runner crossing the finish line.
