Gov. Bobby Jindal appeared on CBS’ Face the Nation yesterday along with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The topic of discussion was the state of the Republican Party following major losses in the last two federal elections, and how the party plans to rebuild itself for the future. Jindal preached that the GOP needs to return to its core principles of fiscal responsibility and taking on corruption, while begining to offer positive solutions on issues like health care. “We’ve got to match our actions with our rhetoric,” Jindal said. “When voters tell us that they trust Democrats more to cut their taxes, control spending, that tells you something’s wrong with the Republican Party.” Watch the video of Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer’s interview with Jindal and Gingrich here.
