At around 4 a.m. on Friday morning, Jamie Bergeron's mother managed to escape the burning house they shared together in Mire. At the time, Bergeron was at work with Acadian Ambulance. Bergeron is best known as the frontman for the popular Cajun band The Kickin' Cajuns.
"Everything burned," Bergeron says. "We lost everything." In addition to losing their home, they also lost two vehicles, 25 birds, 3 dogs and 5 puppies.
