Evangeline: A True Love Story, a documentary by Lafayette producer and marketing consultant Hilary Joseph Castille about the impact of the Evangeline love story on the history and image of the Cajuns of south Louisiana, premieres tonight on Louisiana Public Broadcasting at 7 pm.
Castille worked with other flimmakers Jared Arsement, Alison Bohl, Eric Breaux and Conni Castille on the hour long documentary featuring interviews with Dr. Carl Brasseaux, McIlhenny family historian Dr. Shane Bernard, and Acadian activists Christy Maraist and Warren Perrin.
The airing of the documentary is part of LPB's showcasing of local Louisiana films during their March Pledge Drive. It will be followed by a broadcast of Pat Mire's Ma Chere Camarade, at 8 PM.
