by Nathan Stubbs

State Rep. Elbert Guillory and Pat Cravins have a significant financial edge over their opponents in the District 24 state Senate race. In the first campaign finance reports filed by the candidates for the race, Guillory reports total contributions of $46,702 for the period running from Jan. 1 to Feb. 23, with $22,703 funds left on hand. Cravins reports raising $26,800 and has also personally loaned her campaign $21,075. She has $34,902 funds on hand for the close of the reporting period.

The race’s other three candidates have reported little to no fundraising activity. Neither Quincy Richard nor Kelly Scott filed reports. Lincoln “Link” Savoie lists no contributions but has loaned his campaign $1,000 and reports $358 funds on hand.
