Gov. Kathleen Blanco is talking out of both sides of her mouth. Two weeks ago she was blasting President Bush for not mentioning Hurricane Katrina in the State of the Union speech. Last week, Gov. Blanco met with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and talked about Hurricane Katrina, but she failed to talk about Hurricane Rita! Hello! Wake up, Gov. Blanco. You have turned your back on those in southwest Louisiana by talking to one of the most influential political leaders in Washington D. C. ' a fellow Democrat ' and not mentioning Hurricane Rita.
Blanco is more focused on Katrina as that is the area where she got the critical votes needed to win the last governor's election. It is clear to me that Blanco is more worried about reelection than helping those in southwest Louisiana.
