Advertiser: Chery, Desormeaux, Fenroy sign free-agent deals

The Daily Advertiser broke the news online last night that UL Lafayette standouts Michael Desormeaux, Tyrell Fenroy and Jason Chery would all become rookie free agents. All three were passed over during the weekend NFL draft.

According to the Advertiser, Desormeaux signed a three-year contract Sunday night with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Fenroy agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears. Chery, who will finalize his deal later this week, joins another undrafted former Cajun player, Carolina Panthers QB Jake Delhomme. Delhomme just inked a five-year, $42.5 million extension that keeps him under contract through the 2014 season. His deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money.
