What fond memories I have of Borden's Ice Cream parlor ("Sweet Offer," Feb. 9)! When visiting relatives in Lafayette as a little girl, we were often treated to a visit to this icon on Johnston Street. Years later I remember walking there with friends from our dorm to get a special treat. Dickie Breaux has done a tremendous job in restoring the integrity of the building now housing Café des Amis in Breaux Bridge; best of luck to him as I am counting on future Borden's Ice Cream parlor memories.
