On Thursday, Sept. 17, at River Oaks Catering and Event Center, 800 Hugh Wallis Road, Acadiana Business will recognize this year's Women Who Mean Business honorees, along with Trailblazers Elaine Mann and the late Sue Fontenot. This is the 12th year for the event.

This year's Women Who Mean Business honorees are Susannah Malbreaux, Deidre Toups, Kit Becnel, Judy Briscoe, Penny Angelle Frederick, Bonnie Robert Will, Johnnie Marks, Dr. Ann Laurent and Lucy Chenevert. These nine women  are still active in their careers and are being recognized for their professionalism, entrepreneurship, civic involvement and community leadership. This year’s group hails from the medical profession, education, media, insurance, banking, retail, the oil and gas industry and business.

Each honoree will receive a custom-designed sterling silver bracelet from Paul’s Jewelry. They will also be special guests to the next Eggs ’n’ Issues event, presented Sept. 29 by the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.
