Thank you for your timely report on pending abortion legislation in Louisiana ("Abortion in Louisiana," March 29). It is heartening to know that 33 years after the Supreme Court judged unborn life expendable, there are still those for whom this critical issue is a priority. Like the landmark Dred Scott case, in which blacks were judged non-citizens, and like the corrosive Nazi belief in "life unworthy of life," the Roe v. Wade decision marginalized and made invisible the most vulnerable among us. Those committed to reversing this injustice look to the day when unborn children will no longer be banished to the "back of the bus" but will assume their rightful place as fully protected members of the human family.
