City-Parish President Joey Durel and members of his administration are finalizing a veto statement document this morning, expected to be released early this afternoon. Durel submitted a proposed budget of roughly $587 million last summer — a budget that was heavily amended during a month of budget hearings in August. The council finalized the 2009-2010 fiscal year budget last Tuesday and, according to administration estimates, it was about $250,000 over Durel’s proposed budget by virtue of a fire pay plan, several LCG positions and public works projects added to the budget.
