CPC to hear booze license appeal

by Walter Pierce

The Lafayette Ctiy-Parish Council Tuesday evening will hear an appeal from a Lafayette business owner whose liquor permit is set to be suspended for a three-day period beginning Thursday. F. Earl Comeaux, owner of Earl’s Food Center on Verot School Road, filed the appeal Dec. 1. The store’s permit to sell alcohol is scheduled to be suspended from 6 a.m. Thursday through 2 a.m. Sunday. The suspension stems from a Sept. 15 incident during which an Earl’s Food Center employee allegedly sold alcohol to a minor and was not in possession of a bar card at the time.
