NOLA Brewing Co. party pig launched in time for Mardi Gras

by Mary Tutwiler

For fans of NOLA Brewing Co.'s Brown Ale, Blonde Ale and Hopitoulas IPA, there's no longer a need to trek to NOLA to drink it. The newest microbrewery in the Crescent City has a slogan, "Only on tap, only in New Orleans," that needs a little remixing. While NOLA beers are still only on tap, that spigot can be found in your own fridge, once you pick up a "draft pack" at the store. NOLA has launched a beer box: a cardboard box with a soft plastic bladder inside that holds the equivalent of a case of beer. Draw a single draught from the spigot on the outside of the box with no worries, the rest of the beer will stay fresh and carbonated until you get around to drinking it.

The box is portable too, comes with a handle on top, so it's prime Mardi Gras toting beer, no glass, no worries.

You can pick up your party pig, arriving today, at Marcello's Wine Market, about $40. Call 264-9520 for more info.
