The Advocate reported today that Lafayette-based Web site development firm Firefly Digital has filed a federal lawsuit against Google, alleging the Internet search engine powerhouse is infringing on its "Gadget" trademark. Firefly claims it owns both state and federal trademarks for its content management system, commonly referred to as "Web site Gadget" and "Gadget," and has used both terms continuously since 2002.
