Lafayette-based film production company Bullet Films has recently signed a multi-million dollar, 10-picture deal with international distribution company Echo Bridge Entertainment. The agreement, finalized Feb. 9, calls for Bullet to produce 10 new sci-fi disaster TV movies that will be aired on some of the world's premiere cable channels including NBC Europe and the Sy Fy Channel in the U.S. "All of the script development, producing, post production, We're doing all of that in the Acadiana region," says Dan Lewis, Chief Operating Officer for Active Entertainment and Bullet Films. Without disclosing specifics of the deal, Lewis says that Bullet's film budgets are averaging between $3 to $4 million. "It's safe to say we're going to be spending about $40 million in production with these 10 movies over the next three years," he says.

The first movie to be distributed as part of the contract, "Monsterwolf", is already in post production at Sweet Post Productions here in Lafayette. The next film, "Swamp Shark", will begin production on April 15. Lewis says that the SyFy Channel has committed to carrying both these films in the U.S. "They've verbally committed to the first four," he says, "and we're hoping that they're going to come on board for the next six and we feel pretty confident they will."
