The second-to-last town hall meeting concerning Lafayette's consolidate charter - and the prospect of repealing that charter and returning to dual city and parish forms of government - will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the South Regional Library.

The second-to-last town hall meeting concerning Lafayette's consolidate charter - and the prospect of repealing that charter and returning to dual city and parish forms of government - will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the South Regional Library. City-Parish President Joey Durel will host the meeting, and local elected officials are also expected to attend.

Monday's meeting will mark the fifth such town hall devoted to the charter, which some, especially within the city of Lafayette, would like to repeal. The City-Parish Council advanced an introductory ordinance last Tuesday that would appoint a charter commission that would be charged with reviewing and recommending changes to the consolidated charter.

The final meeting in the series will be held Monday, April 26 at the North Regional Library.
