Today marks the start of hurricane and the Louisiana State Museum took the opportunity to announce a new major exhibit opening in the fall titled, "Living with Hurricanes: Katrina and Beyond." Today marks the start of hurricane and the Louisiana State Museum took the opportunity to announce a new major exhibit opening in the fall titled, "Living with Hurricanes: Katrina and Beyond." The $7.5 million exhibit, which has been years in the making, was designed by the Boston-based firm ExperienceDesign, which worked with the Museum's historians and curators. The exhibit is scheduled to open Ocotber 26, 2010 - a couple months after the five-year anniversary of the storm - and will examine the impact of Katrina from its initial landfall through the subsequent rescue, recovery and rebuilding. The 6,700 square-foot installation will be housed on the ground floor of the historic Presbytere in the French Quarter's Jackson Square.
