The Acadiana Humane Society's annual yard- and bake-sale is slated for Saturday, June 12, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4919 W. Congress. All of the money raised for the nonprofit group will be used for rescued animals - either to pay vet bills, purchase pet food and supplies, or to help fund completion of a hurricane-safe animal shelter.

The group's volunteers are still seeking donations for the sale, having set up a drop-off box in the lobby of the Bridge Storage at 2510 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. Donations are being accepted through Friday; be sure to state that the items are for the animal rescue yard sale.

If you have larger furniture items, contact Sue at [email protected] or 337-668-4484 to arrange to meet her at the yard sale location to drop them off this week. All donations should be clean and in gently used condition. Among items being collected are toys, books, videos, music, clean dishes, kitchenware, Tupperware, collectibles, appliances, furniture, baby items, sporting goods and pet supplies. (No knives or undergarments). Tax deductible receipts are available if you leave your name, mailing address, and a list of the items donated.

In addition to yard sale items, there will also be a snack bar, snowball stand, and Coca-Cola products for sale. Click here for a map of the yard sale location.
